The rubber boot: Craftsmanship

The rubber boot: Craftsmanship

EVERY BOOT IS UNIQUE

Our rubber boots are a true craft - from sketch to production. The rubber boot manufacturing process involves several steps to create practical and durable footwear. It starts by extracting natural rubber from the sap of rubber trees, which is then processed into blocks and sent to the factory. The first step in the production process is to roll out the rubber. The staff then roll out the rubber mass to the thickness that we wish to apply to the rubber boot. Our boots have different properties and uses, and the thickness of the rubber is chosen in relation to this. All parts of the rubber boot are then punched out and like a puzzle, each boot is built by hand in the manufacturing phase.

In the factory, staff with solid knowledge build the rubber boot from the inside out. From the lining, which is closest to the leg, to the outsole.

There are several steps in the manufacturing process where we can reuse materials. When punching, there is some material waste, which is reused and baked into the next production. We can reuse the material up to seven times, so there is very little waste material at this stage of production. Even before the boot has hardened, it is possible to reuse the material. The boots that do not meet our quality requirements will therefore be reused before vulcanisation.

The outsole of the boot is then made by casting with specific moulds. At this point, different patterns and logos can be incorporated.

Handmade

Next, all the components are assembled together on a production line. Workers are responsible for assembling or gluing their assigned parts. The assembled boots are subjected to a thorough quality control process to ensure that they meet the standards set by the manufacturer.

After passing inspection, the boots are subjected to a final quality control assessment. Defects or issues are identified, and only boots that meet the required quality standards proceed to the packaging stage.

Packaging is done using suitable containers such as cardboard boxes, plastic bags, or other protective materials, depending on the manufacturer's preference.

It's important to note that the entire manufacturing process of rubber boots is performed manually. Skilled workers handle each step with precision, from mixing and rolling the rubber to stamping, cutting, and assembly.

Once the boots are packaged, they are ready for distribution to consumers. They have undergone testing to ensure their ability to withstand different weather conditions and provide reliable protection, keeping feet dry in rainy or muddy environments.

Rubber boots exemplify how simple ingredients and traditional manufacturing methods can combine to create a practical and reliable product. The goal throughout the process is to meet high standards of quality and functionality in the final product.
